Hidden Valley is one of my favorite wedding venues in Cape Town[mainly because the chef/owner of the Overture restaurant, Bertus Basson, produces some of the most incredible food I have ever seen/eaten in my life!] . Adrian, originally from South Africa, lives in London where he met Maria who is of German and Asian descent . These two are hopelessly is love and quite literary get lost in each others eyes whenever they interacted throughout the day . It really was beautiful to see ! The vibe at this wedding was amazing . Real , raw and honest . During the speeches my eyes started welling up while I was shooting and I had only known the couple for a few hours . Maria & Adrian I wish you guys all the best for the future . It was a pleasure capturing your amazing day !

Another beautiful wedding at Webersburg in Stellenbosch which was coordinated by Lisa from Talk Functions . Janet & Tony were an absolute pleasure to photograph . Both very unassuming and enjoying the day as it unfolded . There was a ridiculous sunset that evening and I remember more than half the guests all leaving their tables to go outside and get a few amazing shots on their phones etc . Hope u enjoy the pics …

Coordinated by Lisa from Talk Functions this wedding was a fantastic mix of South African and Brazilians[where both Lionel & Cassie are from]. This couple were so easy going and a real pleasure to photograph . One thing that really stood out for me from this wedding was the dancing . I think if you are Brazilian, you have a genetic gift to shake your booty on that dance floor. Was an awesome sight to see practically all the guest from the 6 year old to the 70 year old’s getting down on the dance floor !

Firstly I would like to apologies for being SO slack in my blogging efforts. I have many amazing weddings that I have shot over the last 2 months that will finally start to appear on my blog next week . Maja & Mike live in the States and had an amazing intimate wedding at Langverwagt. I really love shooting at this venue as it has this unique rustic charm that most wine farms don’t quite have . This was a really international wedding with Croatians [where Maja is originally from] , Russians , Americans and even the odd South African thrown in the mix. The vibe was very informal with no timing sheet or itinerary of when to dance , when to say speeches etc . During dinner if someone wanted to say something they would clink their glass, stand-up and say a few words. Although this made my job a little more challenging it also gave the evening this natural flow which was fantastic. Enjoy the pics

Mia looked absolutely gorgeous on her wedding day . I only really met her on the day and her shy , understated beauty really translated through the photos I captured . This was a true Afrikaans wedding with not a lot of English being spoken on the day . I tried to fit in by speaking a bit of Afrikaans during the hair/make-up portion of the day and quickly stopped when after each attempted Afrikaans sentence that came out my mouth , a chorus of giggles promptly followed This wedding took place at Roodezand in Tulbach , and was my first time shooting at this charming venue . I wish you and your families all the best for the future x

Talya & Paul

Talya & Paul got married at the Sante Hotel , resort & spa in Stellenbosch . Coordinated by Anne Mann from Anne Mann Celebrates, the weather on this day was beautiful [perhaps too beautiful in terms of the heat!!] , but I always say rather be too hot than rain and wind ! I was at school with Paul’s older brother and recognized some familiar faces whilst photographing their day . Both Paul and Talya are really down to earth , chilled people and I captured some fantastic moments throughout their amazing day . We went to Groot Constantia a few weeks later for a post wedding shoot, which a few of these pics I’ve included at end of this post . I wish you guys all the best for the many years to come !!

Jules & Graham live in Australia and came down to Cape Town to have their wedding at the gorgeous Vrede en Lust wine estate on the most perfect day in October . Both Jules and Graham are really easy going people and the day went just as planned . This was a pretty intimate wedding with close friends and family joining them to celebrate . Martin & Melissa live in Johannesburg and came down to Cape Town to have their wedding at the beautiful Hidden Valley in Stellenbosch . The weather on this day was very wet and cold and the rain pretty much came down the entire day which meant that we didn’t get any opportunity to shoot outside. But I must say I have never seen a bride so unphased about the terrible weather . Melissa was so chilled and happy, and took the bad weather in her stride and really made the most of her amazing day . Coordinated by Leana from Just Jack [who did an amazing job as always] this wedding was a gorgeous, intimate affair and I had a great time capturing some fantastic moments and interacting with the guests .

This wedding was an intimate affair that took place at Mike’s amazing family farm out in the Midlands . When I arrived at the family’s estate it felt like I was on a movie set of an 18th century period film . Very lush and opulent , surrounded by open fields as far as the eye can see . Coordinated by Nikki from Rusco events , the day ran smoothly until a pretty serious thunder storm decided to arrive ! Luckily all the guest were safe under the big tent that held the reception and the storm passed within 20 minutes , leaving a magical rainbow and awesome sunset .
