This one was an adventure ! Myself and my trusty 2nd shooter John Henry flew up to the incredibly beautiful Cathedral Peak Lodge in the Drakensburg for Berendine & Thiart’s intimate wedding. We arrived 2 days before the wedding which was fantastic. I got to know the family, take in the area , plan an amazing couple shoot and even fit in a round of 9 holes on their golf course before the wedding day ! One vivid memory I have is the helicopter ride ! Also the wedding dress is gorgeous from Idress.co.nz.The weather was overcast and a little windy on the wedding day and we had planned a helicopter ride to a beautiful vantage point as part of the couple shoot. The pilot decided it was OK to fly but getting up to the vantage point was not very sketchy … I know this because he tried to break through the cloud cover and quickly swooped right to abandon the attempt … without warning us ! A memorable experience to say the least ! Berendine & Thiart, it was an absolute pleasure getting to know you guys and documenting your breathtaking wedding.
