- A venue I seem to travel often to shoot is the beautiful Two Oaks Estate in Greyton . Its a 2 hours drive from Cape Town and has this amazing small town charm . The estate is run by a local family who are farmers and own this incredibly secluded piece of land . The weather was touch and go - thick clouds with a bit of rain so the ceremony was held inside the barn but the rain disappeared soon after and left us with this beautiful overcast soft light . There was such an honest, intimate atmosphere at this wedding and I had a great vibe with both Candice and Guy ! [...]

- Another wedding at one of my favorite venues , Langverwagt . Doug works for Redbull and Lexi runs a bakery in the biscuit mill . Between the 2 of them this made for a really hip , cool crowd at their beautiful wedding . The day ran really smooth , with perfect weather [which was a little sketchy in the morning] and I got some amazing shots throughout the day ! [...]

- When I met Deborah a month before her wedding day she arrived at my studio with her mom and came across as very down to earth , very polite and a little shy . She said she loves my work and I must just do my thing on her day . A month later I arrived in Tulbach to start photographing the getting ready part of the day and was amazed at how naturally she photographed . She kept her hair and make-up very low key , wore a simple dress and her natural beauty really translated through the images. Both Deborah and Christiaan are humble , down to earth people and it was such a pleasure being part of their day ! [...]

- Anne Kristin and Andre were such a pleasure to photography . Everything about this wedding was simple , understated and beautiful . There weren't a lot of guests which created this great, intimate vibe and the guests were a fun mix of locals and Norwegians [where Anne Kristin is from] . The weather was a little sketchy towards the end of the day so we opted to grab 2 big umbrellas and did the couple shoot in the light rain . I was on a surf trip in Jeffery's Bay recently and bumped into Andre in the water ! Its always cool to see my clients after their wedding day - especially at Jeffery's Bay with perfect waves !! [...]

- Coordinated by Lisa from Talk Functions this wedding was a fantastic mix of South African and Brazilians[where both Lionel & Cassie are from]. This couple were so easy going and a real pleasure to photograph . One thing that really stood out for me from this wedding was the dancing . I think if you are Brazilian, you have a genetic gift to shake your booty on that dance floor. Was an awesome sight to see practically all the guest from the 6 year old to the 70 year old’s getting down on the dance floor !

- Jeff & Sue came down from Australia to have an intimate wedding at the ridiculously beautiful Tintswalo Lodge . This venue is nestled on the rocks of the Atlantic ocean , off the famous Chapman's Peak drive in Cape Town . Its incredibly secluded and the views are breathtaking . Sue looked amazing ! She wanted to be comfortable and proved that sometimes less is more . All the best guys ! Thanks for including me in your amazing day [...]

- Coordinated by Megan from Wedding Concepts this was a very intimate wedding of 8 guests in total . Jermain & Marcia hail from Washington DC . They wanted something elegant and simple and chose Cape Town as their wedding destination . The weather was very cold and rainy on the day so Megan and her team created the most amazing setting inside the venue's underground wine cellar . The couple enjoyed a beautifully setup dinner after the ceremony with some funky hip hop music blaring in the background . This wedding was featured on 2 super cool Amercian based wedding blogs . You can check them out here and here [...]

- Justin and I were good friends during high school days which made this wedding a little different than most . Coordinated by Gina from Gina’s Events , this wedding took place at Lourensford Wine Estate on a perfect late summers day . Dude , it was my absolute pleasure capturing your day and I wish you and Natalie all the best !! [...]

- Mark & Bianca got married at the Roundhouse in Camps Bay . This was a Jewish wedding but a very chilled , nontraditional one . There was no real timing schedule for the day , no allocated seating for the guests during the reception and, as a photographer, these guidelines do help but on this day I realized sometimes they not at all necessary . This approach was true to who the couple are , and allowed the guests to simply enjoy the day as it unfolded . And as expected when the sun went down the party started and oh yes it certainly was a party !!

- Maja & Mike live in the States and had an amazing intimate wedding at Langverwagt. I really love shooting at this venue as it has this unique rustic charm that most wine farms don’t quite have . This was a really international wedding with Croatians [where Maja is originally from] , Russians , Americans and even the odd South African thrown in the mix. The vibe was very informal with no timing sheet or itinerary of when to dance , when to say speeches etc . During dinner if someone wanted to say something they would clink their glass, stand-up and say a few words. Although this made my job a little more challenging it also gave the evening this natural flow which was fantastic [...]

- Talya & Paul got married at the Sante Hotel , resort & spa in Stellenbosch . Coordinated by Anne Mann from Anne Mann Celebrates, the weather on this day was beautiful [perhaps too beautiful in terms of the heat!!] , but I always say rather be too hot than rain and wind ! I was at school with Paul’s older brother and recognized some familiar faces whilst photographing their day . Both Paul and Talya are really down to earth , chilled people and I captured some fantastic moments throughout their amazing day . We went to Groot Constantia a few weeks later for a post wedding shoot, which a few of these pics I’ve included at end of this post . I wish you guys all the best for the many years to come !! [...]

- Mia looked absolutely gorgeous on her wedding day . I only really met her on the day and her shy , understated beauty really translated through the photos I captured . This was a true Afrikaans wedding with not a lot of English spoken on the day . I tried to fit in by speaking a bit of Afrikaans during the hair/make-up portion of the day and quickly stopped when after each attempted Afrikaans sentence that came out my mouth , a chorus of giggles promptly followed This wedding took place at Roodezand in Tulbach , and was my first time shooting at this charming venue . I wish you and your families all the best for the future x [...]
